FairyDust Art

About Me

Hi,
My name is Ruhi. The owner/artist/creator/social media manager all in one for Fairydust Art. I’ve always been inclined towards art and craft and an enthusiast for interior decoration. Since I graduated, I would paint canvases to decorate homes. In 2019, I came across alcohol ink art and resin art.

I researched and developed an interest in this field. I started as a hobby page just to display my work, had no intention to do a business as I was a full time jolly phonics trainer and would also handle my moms skincare business Glowssentials.

Then came lockdown, the toughest months of our lives. But I am glad I got time to explore my interest in resin art and started my business page.

All my products are handmade, right from scratch and I personally make each product. The beauty of Resin art is that each piece is a masterpiece and even I cannot recreate my own designs as resin is a liquid which flows in its own direction like water, making each piece one of a kind. I now even host workshops and share as much knowledge as I have gained with my participants.

My Journey

I wanted to do more of Islamic art, I wanted all my followers to have a piece of my work. In Ramadan 2021 I brainstormed and came up with idea of a hadiyah box idea which was a big hit as it was something new. So the main idea was an affordable decor and daily use item that a person uses or sees daily.

I sold more than 100 boxes in 20 days and the Islamic car hangings were a big hit too. The idea behind this was to reach out to mass crowd and not much profit. And since then, my clocks, wall arts and Islamic art have been selling like hot cakes.

I am glad I took a leap of faith and started this business. I love what I do and enjoy it. And I believe when you whole heartedly do something the quality and the details are top knotch.

Inspiration

The inspiration behind my business was my mom, I have seen her run her skincare business (Glowssentials) successfully and it motivated me to do something too. She supported me and gave me a push right from the start, she helps me with my orders too. Being a single mother she has been head strong and would uplift me when I was starting up and was unsure of what I am doing. Fairydust Art would have not been possible without her.

Initially, Fairydust Art started as a hobby but Alhumdulillah it has come this far with the help of my mother and my lovely clients, especially the repeat clients. It keeps me motivated.
